Abstract: THE ROLE OF TAX ACCOUNTING IN TRANSFER PRICING DOCUMENTATION
This study examines the role of tax accounting in transfer pricing documentation among multinational companies in Lagos. The objectives are to assess the importance of accurate transfer pricing documentation, identify the challenges faced by tax accountants, and evaluate the impact on compliance with international tax laws. A survey design was used, with data collected from 200 tax accountants, derived using Taro Yamane's formula. A case study of a multinational company with operations in Lagos provided comprehensive insights. The reliability coefficient score was 0.89. Findings show that accurate transfer pricing documentation is crucial for compliance, but challenges such as complexity and lack of expertise persist. Recommendations include enhanced training for tax accountants and the development of clearer guidelines for transfer pricing documentation.
